He is unable to hold it though...Mike Whitson is first to the loose ball and is able to clear.

13' - Joseph Clark tackles Davie Jobert and takes possession.  Brighton attempt to counter.  Joseph Clark plays the ball to Jim McAskill.  Jim McAskill slides the ball to Sam Whitestone.  Sam Whitestone spots a run from Zach East.  He attempts to release him with a throughball, but Zach East  is unable to take the ball down!  

18' - Mike Whitson hits the ball from long range, aiming for the corner of the net...but its wide!

20' - Michael Delaney sees a run from Spencer Callum.  He attempts a long throughball to his teammate, but Spencer Callum can't get to the ball!  

29' - Ian Spedding dispossesses Sam Whitestone and the ball goes loose.  Jack Pryde plays a long pass to Iain Forsyth.  Iain Forsyth crosses the ball into the box, but Mike Whitson intercepts the ball.  

30' - Mike Whitson speeds past Spencer Callum.  

35' - Shamus Sheridan passes to Mike Whitson.  Mike Whitson plays a short pass to Zach East.  Zach East curves the ball into the box and finds Malcolm Thaw.  Malcolm Thaw gets above the defence and directs a header towards goal...and its in! It's a lovely goal from Malcolm Thaw for Brighton!  The ball went in off the upright!

51' - Sam Whitestone spots a run from Zach East.  He attempts a quick throughball, and Zach East runs on to the ball.  Zach East hits a shot, aiming for the top of the net...but the shot goes over!

53' - Michael Delaney sees a run from Spencer Callum.  He attempts a long ball over the top, and Spencer Callum is able to take the ball.  Spencer Callum looks to slide the ball past the keeper...but the shot is tipped around the post by Dennis Young!  The linesman flags for a corner for  Brightlingsea.  Ron MacAlpine places the ball to take the corner.  He sends the ball into the box, but no one is able to get to the ball.

54' - Ron MacAlpine crosses the ball into the box, but Joseph Clark intercepts and makes a clearance.

86' - Sammy Lorimer curves the ball into the box and finds Malcolm Thaw.  Malcolm Thaw jumps up to head the ball towards the top corner...and Malcolm Thaw scores!  Its a goal for Brighton!  The ball went in off the underside of the crossbar!
