Welcome to Ainslie Park in Edinburgh, Scotland where The Spartans will face Forres Mechanics FC.  This is a group stage match of the League Cup.  The attendance is 5000.

1' - The Spartans kick the ball off for the start of the game.  

6' - Ed Bryce sees a run from Joseph McCallister.  He tries to split the defence with a throughball, but Joseph McCallister has strayed offside!  

9' - Robert Gibbs finds Alan MacIntosh with a long pass.  Duncan MacLennan tackles Alan MacIntosh and takes the ball.  Robert Gibbs dispossesses Duncan MacLennan and takes possession.  Forres Mechanics FC launch a counter attack.  Robert Gibbs looks to strike a long range shot into the top of the net...but the shot sails over the bar!

12' - Charlie McCrady finds Gavin McWhinnie with a long pass.  Dale Buckley successfully tackles Gavin McWhinnie and the ball goes loose.  Ed Bryce tries to use ball skills to beat Dale Buckley.  The opposing player is sent the wrong way and Ed Bryce runs with the ball!  

13' - Ed Bryce sees James Neagle making a run.  He attempts a long ball over the top, and James Neagle is able to control the ball.  James Neagle tries to slide the ball past the keeper...and its in! It's a lovely goal from James Neagle for The Spartans!  The ball rebounded in off the post!

13' - Forres Mechanics FC kick the ball off for the restart.  

17' - Robert Gibbs attempts to strike a long range shot into the top of the net...but Charlie McCrady stops the shot!  He can't hold it though...John McWethy manages to clear the ball for the defending team.

20' - Duncan MacLennan finds John McWethy with a short pass.  John McWethy attempts to outskill Robert Gibbs.  He sends his opponent the wrong way and takes the ball forward!  

22' - John McWethy spots a run from James Neagle.  He attempts to release him with a throughball, and James Neagle is able to take the ball.  James Neagle hits a shot...but the keeper manages to tip the shot round the post!  The linesman signals its a corner for The Spartans.  John McWethy will take the corner.  He curls the ball into the box, and manages to find Duncan MacLennan.  Duncan MacLennan gets above the defence and directs a header hoping to beat the keeper...but its wide!

32' - Andrew MacMichael tackles Ed Noyce and the ball goes loose.  Darryl Stackpoole chips a long ball to Ed Noyce.  Ed Noyce plays a short pass to John McWethy.  Bruce MacLeod successfully tackles John McWethy and takes possession.  Bruce MacLeod plays a long pass to Gavin Craig.  Gavin Craig passes to Robert Gibbs.  Robert Gibbs attempts to strike a long range shot into the top of the net...and Robert Gibbs scores!  That's a lovely goal from the Forres Mechanics FC player!  The keeper got a hand to the ball but couldn't stop the shot!

32' - The Spartans kick the ball off for the restart.  

36' - James Neagle sees Ed Bryce making a run.  He tries to split the defence with a throughball, but the linesman raises his flag for offside!  

41' - Charles MacTavish chips a long ball to Ed Noyce.  Ed Noyce takes the ball past Dale Buckley with a turn of pace, but is brought down.    The referee is reaching for a card.  It's yellow. Dale Buckley has been booked.  That will be a freekick for The Spartans.  

43' - Duncan MacLennan sees a run from John McWethy.  He attempts to play him through with a quick ball, but the linesman raises his flag for offside!  

45' - The referee blows the whistle for half time. 

45' - Forres Mechanics FC kick the ball off for the restart.  

50' - The Spartans attempt a quick counter attack.  Gavin McWhinnie plays a long ball to Charles MacTavish.  Charles MacTavish spots a run from John McWethy.  He attempts a quick throughball, but John McWethy is caught offside!  

51' - There is going to be a subsitution.  Alex McConnel will come off.  Thomas Rees is going to be brought on.  

52' - Adam Cameron attempts to strike a long range shot into the corner of the net...but the ball flies wide of the post!

56' - There is going to be a subsitution.  It looks like Charles Quinn is going to be taken off.  Tom Dolan joins the game from the bench.

64' - Joseph McCallister tackles Adam Cameron and gains possession for his team.  Joseph McCallister sees James Neagle making a run.  He attempts to play a throughball, but James Neagle  is unable to take the ball down!  

74' - John McWethy chips a long ball to Darryl Stackpoole.  Darryl Stackpoole finds Ed Bryce with a short pass.  Ed Bryce spots a run from James Neagle.  He attempts to play a throughball, and James Neagle is able to control the ball.  James Neagle attempts to place the ball past the keeper...and James Neagle scores!  That's a tremendous goal from the The Spartans player!  The keeper got a hand to the ball but couldn't stop the shot!

74' - Forres Mechanics FC kick the ball off for the restart.  

79' - Joseph McCallister slides the ball to James Neagle.  James Neagle speeds past Alan MacIntosh.  

81' - Robert Gibbs runs with the ball, beating James Neagle.  

85' - The Spartans try to launch a counter attack.  Ed Noyce finds John McWethy with a long pass.  John McWethy attempts to strike a long range shot into the corner of the net...and John McWethy scores!  That's a lovely goal from the The Spartans player!  The ball flew past the helpless goalkeeper!

86' - Forres Mechanics FC kick the ball off for the restart.  

89' - Bruce MacLeod passes the ball to Robert Gibbs.  Robert Gibbs plays a short pass to Thomas Rees.  Thomas Rees finds Robert Gibbs with a long pass.  Robert Gibbs looks to strike a long range shot into the corner of the net...but its wide!
