I lowered my youth academy age to 12, but it still keeps bringing me age 16 players every time a new one gets added to the youth academy. Why is it doing this?

Only players aged 16 and above are added to the youth academy. However, depending on when you lowered the age, those 16 year olds will have been trained longer and have better stats when generated.
You won't see players aged under 16 in the youth academy as like in real life their would be hundreds who eventually get trimmed down to < 30 when they get to this age

Now we're up to 2034 and the seasons are ticking over quickly with more and more teams winning things, changing clubs etc, it's getting harder to keep track of who's won what. It'd be great if the owner rankings pages could be expanded - I had enough free time today to be able to go through the history and do a quick mock-up of the kind of thing I'm suggesting - unless I've missed anything or made any mistakes the numbers here are correct*, so even if it'd be a pain to implement and doesn't end up happening, this at least shows where we are in august 2034 and I or someone else could easily update it each season.
The 'trophy points' column I didn't give much thought to and could be changed (if it even needs to be there at all), I just added it as a way to get a default order, with 1000 for a UCL, 500 for league titles and europa leagues, 250 for domestic cups and minor international tournaments. The main idea of it is just to keep a record of trophies won, rather than to give a ranking or replace the existing points system (which would complement this nicely, since winning big trophies isn't the only barometer of success in this game - some owners are doing great developing teams and selling them on etc)
*It doesn't include MLS as I wasn't sure what actually counts as winning! Also didn't include anything below top flight as there's just too much of it
Then the drop down menu could show tables for each country - e.g. a table for England, with columns for Premier Leagues, FA Cups, League Cups; a 'Continental' Table, with columns for Champions League, Europa League, CONCACAF, Copa America etc.
As ever, just a suggestion and probably a fairly low priority one - don't know how big a job it would be or whether there'd be enough interest in it from other players to make it worthwhile. Personally though I think it'd be a nice thing to have in place while (hopefully) we're still in the early days of the game - if it gets to 2060, 2100 etc it could be cool to have those stats, but would be more of a nightmare to do at that point. It was only when putting that table together that I realised how much Boble had actually won, and that was all in pretty recent history!

Not quite what you suggested, but I have added a "trophy" view now to the Owner Rankings if you change the Type to "Trophies", you initially get an overview of rankings with various categories. You can then select Trophy View of "Detailed" to get a breakdown of who has won what and how many times

I’m listed on the rankings as having only won the Swiss Cup. Not exactly a big cup and it’s fine if it doesn’t count for anything but I also won the Scottish League cup once.

I'll check...I think I set minimum "cup class" to rule out things like the FA trophy/ shield.
But I'll amend it so it includes Scottish League cup.

anyway to make it so you see your youth team players potential more accurately the older they get? for example when they are 16 you see to within 250, when they are 17 to within 100 and when they are 18 to within 50.
also can the AI teams actually sign their best youth players instead of releasing them.

AI teams already do as long as the potential of the youth player is better than the average first team rating for that position.
I'll think about the other question re increasing visibility

also can something be done about players who want to leave having their happiness staying the same if you just put them up for sale at a crazy price but never sell them? their happiness should still be going down at a fast rate and they should never want to renew their contract in that situation.

I've been thinking about the same thing recently @OwnGoal, some of the top clubs have almost entire squads made up of international players, most of them getting hardly any games, and yet all of them seem completely happy.
I think happiness should have a much bigger impact for star players, decreasing much faster if the players are of international caliber and are not getting games, and they should be demanding out much more adamantly, maybe even refusing to play if happiness is below 250 or something.
With the lack of very high rated young players coming through that has been mentioned before, we can't have 860-900+ rated players sitting on benches because owners can't find playing time for them. Plus it makes it harder for any new owners when every good young player is swooped up and stashed for years at a time, getting almost no game time or being loaned out intermittently.

those default lineup screens and the functionality to use those players in the match sims take a hell of a lot of work and i'm not sure how many people would use it. I can work on a filter though.

Coming soon: World Club Cup.
This will be held in January when I don't think there is any champions league or europa.
Winners of the champions league will get bye to the semi finals, so at most will have to play 2 matches. clubs from north america, asia, africa and the host country will start from QFs
